A heavy 19th century Philippine Mindanao Kris (also called a Sundang) from the Sulu Archipelago of the Tausug tribe, double edged 16½ inch wavy pattern welded forged blade with a central ridge and traces of decoration and 2 silver stirrups, the hilt completely covered with tied and knotted cord and wire, horse hoof type pommel, the original wooden scabbard covered in rattan, both sides of the top with applied tortoiseshell with decorative silver pins, both sides of the bottom likewise, the top and bottom of the sheath also with an applied nickel strip around the edges.
