A Victorian copy of a Scottish shield, a targe, used by the Scottish Highlanders famously at the battle of Culloden in 1746 after the Jacobite rising, the carrying of these shields were banned after that date, they had been in use since the early 17th century,
The 18 inch green leather wooden shield covered with brass studs (slight rusting) in circles all interacted by rows of studs and diamond decoration of hearts with red leather, the centre with a dome (slight dent) with traces of gilding, the rear also leather covered with a carrying handle. #9739mao
