A brass Brunton geologists pocket compass signed inside the case "STANLEY LONDON".this compass combines the principles of a surveyors compass, prismatic compass, clinometer, hand level and plumb. It unfolds to produce two sights with peepholes, you either sight through a clear window in the lid or lay the lid fully down open and use the 2nd hinged peep sight, the inside cover has amirror with a vertical line inscibed. Closing the compass lid moves a needle lift for transporting the compass, The compass measures 7cm by 7.8cm and is 3.2cm high. and weighs 18¼ ozs

The Brunton compass was designed by a Colorado mining engineer and he received a patent for it in 1894
