19th CENTURY VICTORIAN 42ND REGIMENT BLACK WATCH #9966
A Victorian Regimental 42nd Black Watch (Sgian Dubh) Skean Dhu of traditional design having a bog oak handle with basket weave pattern and 5 applied brass studs. Missing the top mount, the bottom gilt brass mount is of a thistle and foliate design, attached to the handle near the base is the gilt brass figure of St Andrew holding a cross, the 9.5cm single edged blade with a scalloped back edge and a single fuller either side, (some staining to one side), the wooden sheath covered with leather, plain gilt brass mounts (worn) and stamped with the makers stamp "W.M.ANDERSON & SONS Ltd, MILITARY OUTFITTERS, EDINBURGH & GLASGOW".
