19TH c. AFRICAN CEREMONIAL STATE WOODEN BAULE, ASHANTI SWORD #9728
A late 19th century African Baule, Oyoko, Ashanti Chieftains State ceremonial Sword, carved from one piece of wood with the typical double ball shaped hilt, inlaid with white pigment, the blade with 2 rectangular holes, incised line decoration on one side, inlaid with pigment, the other side with 2 crocodiles carved also with white pigment, overall 27 inches, 69cm. Nice worn patina. #9728mto.
