LATE 20TH CENTURY SCOTTISH REGIMENTAL SKEAN DHU GORDON HIGHLANDERS #10069

A late 20th century Scottish Regimental Highland Sgian dhub for the Gordon Highlanders, 3½ inch blade with a fuller either side and a scalloped edge, basket weave horn hilt set with brass studs with silver mounts top and bottom decorated with thistles and flower heads, the top surmounted with a pale yellow cairngorm, wooden, leather covered silver mounted sheath, the top mount with Edinburgh hallmarks for 1985 and the makers initials T.E.  for Thomas Ebbutt. Overall 8 inches.  #10069aoo

Thomas Ebbutt started work in 1896 and died in 1921. His company continued in business until 1977 when it was bought by Hamilton & Inches. H&I continued to use the TE mark until c2000
